Former Home and Away star Kate Ritchie felt nostalgic over the weekend and returned to her old haunt of Palm Beach.

Palm Beach is used for the popular soap opera’s exterior scenes to portray the fictional seaside town of Summer Bay.

The 44-year-old, who first rose to fame on the popular series starring Sally Fletcher, posted a photo of herself taking in the view and enjoying the sun.

Wearing a black baseball cap, t-shirt and matching black hoodie slung over her shoulders, she trekked up to the area’s famous lighthouse.

The Australia’s Got Talent judge referred to her past as a child star in the post.

“I’m going home and filling my cup today,” Kate captioned the photo.

Despite industry murmurs, Kate could be replaced by Ricki-Lee Coulter following her drunk driving charges, a spokesman for the network confirmed that wasn’t the case.

Kate exceeded the limit after being stopped by police in her blue Subaru station wagon for a random breath test on August 22.

She was arrested immediately and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where she underwent a secondary breath analysis, which returned a positive 0.06, just a touch above the legal limit of 0.05.

Kate was immediately fined $600 and banned from driving for three months.

She has since apologized for her actions and said she made a “bad decision”.

“Recently I did a random breath test. Although it was a low level, the test was positive,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I made a bad decision and there is no doubt that I understand the seriousness of my actions. I’m really sorry.’

Kate was stopped by police for a random breath test at 2.45pm on the day of the incident on Heffron Rd in Pagewood.

A police spokesman told Chron Australia: “She received an offense notice for the offense of driving with a prescribed low alcohol concentration range and issued a driving license suspension notice.”
