Not only Janja, the new first lady, chose a fashionista look for the inauguration of President Lula of the PT, which took place in Brasília this Sunday. Lu Alckmin and Ana Estela Haddad, wives of Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Fernando Haddad respectively, also wore elegant outfits.
Janja sidestepped the dress tradition and wore a champagne colored blazer, waistcoat and highwaisted trousers. The top of the set featured embroidered plant and floral designs. The fabrics were naturally dyed with cashew and rhubarb. The outfit is signed by stylist Helô Rocha, who also designed the sociologist’s wedding dress.
Janja later changed her appearance to go to Itamaraty Palace. For the occasion, she chose a long blue pleated dress, a piece that gave Lula’s wife a more traditional look.
Lu Alckmin, on the other hand, showed up in a white dress with open sleeves on the inside of the arms the piece was created by stylist Reinaldo Lourenço. He wore black shoes on his feet.
Ana Estela Haddad also relied on tradition and went to the inauguration in a long dress. The terracotta piece is signed by Ana de Jour.
Activist Anielle Franco, sister of Marielle Franco, attended the inauguration in a red midi dress covered by a long patterned kimono. She also wore earrings and necklaces.
Erika Hilton, federal representative for Sao Paulo, also dressed in red. She chose a midi skirt and a kind of blazer to a monochrome composition. The pieces were also designed by Helô Rocha in collaboration with Camila Pedroza.
Marina Silva, the new Environment Minister, wore a beige dress over trousers of the same colour. The politician also wore a brown belt and necklace.
