Presenter Giovanna Ewbank surprised her own husband when he revealed his true sexual orientation to the world. The declaration took place in September last year.
In a recent interview with the newspaper O Globo, Bruno Gagliasso said he had no idea his wife identified as a demisexual person.
“I did not know that. I heard from the show that she’s demisexual. I laughed a lot. I called her, ‘You mean you’re demisexual?'” he said.
This could be a source of insecurity for many people but not for Gio’s husband. “I’m not ashamed of the family I have, of who I am. I thought it was funny, I thought it was damn funny, ”Bruno clarified the moment of the statement.
Gio’s revelation happened during the podcast Quem Pode, Pod, presented by his wife along with the couple’s friend, also actress Fernanda Paes Leme. In Bruno’s opinion, it’s normal for something like this to happen on the show.
“There is a place of many revelations. Everyone does. They put themselves in that place so the guests can do the same,” he said.
Because what does demisexual mean?
This has nothing to do with singer Demi Lovato: demisexuality is a sexual orientation, just like heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual and others
In short, identifying as demisexual means you need to form an emotional bond before sexual attraction to anyone else develops.
Demisexuality is associated with what is known as the “grey area” of asexuality, where the person generally does not feel sexual attraction but may develop a romantic interest towards it.
Despite this, there are those who argue that it is possible to identify as demi and straight, for example. That would mean that you are attracted to people of the opposite sex, but only after a previous commitment.
