Golden Globes: Taylor Swift's Reaction to Host's 'Joke' Goes Viral Online and Public Reacts; view (Photo: Getty)
Taylor Swift's attendance at the 2024 Golden Globes, held this Sunday (7), went viral after a joke from the presenter Jo Koy. The lyrics mentioned the singer's relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and her attending her partner's games. The excerpt quickly spread on social media and Miss Americana fans voiced their opinions.
The atmosphere arose after one of the awards breaks. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL is that at the Golden Globes there are fewer cameras on Taylor Swift… I'm sorry about that,” Koy said. The cameras soon focused on Taylor and captured her unusual reaction to what was said.
The voice of “Cruel Summer” didn't say much about the joke, instead pursing his lips before taking a sip of his drink. The host referenced the times Swift attended Kansas Chiefs games to support Kelce.

It didn't take long for Swifties to respond to the comment and come to Taylor's defense. On social media, many of them criticized Jo Koy's text. “Too late to add Jo Koy to the In Memoriam montage? I think Taylor took him out,” one said. “I would be scared if Taylor Swift looked at me like that,” another profile admitted.
“If Taylor Swift ever reacted like that to one of my jokes I would throw myself off something big,” a third person wrote. Even journalist and presenter Piers Morgan analyzed the situation. “If Taylor Swift's death stares could actually kill, Jo Koy would be dead by now,” he mused.
Even a Brazilian information portal about Swift did not spare Koy from criticism. “After making an unfunny joke with Taylor Swift, audiences are also losing patience with the humor of Nego Di from the Golden Globes,” the site said, comparing the host to the former Big Brother Brasil contestant.

Taylor Swift attended this year's Golden Globes after being nominated in the Greatest Motion Picture and Box Office category for the release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. However, the feature film about the singer's most recent tour failed in the end because of “Barbie”.
Nevertheless, according to NME, the production officially became the highestgrossing concert film of all time, surpassing Michael Jackson's “This Is It” with a worldwide gross of $261.6. million (R$ 12.7 million at current prices).

According to Page Six, the Grammy winner walked out of the awards show after failing to win in the respective category. On the Internet, fans would also have noticed the absence of Taylor, who no longer appeared alongside Keleigh Sperry, wife of Miles Teller, who accompanied her at the event.
“I think Taylor left, I don't see her in the audience anymore,” commented one viewer. “Taylor really left? She’s so funny,” said another. “Taylor is 90% sure she left the event, she hasn't been seen since 'Barbie,'” a third profile noted.

In addition to the embarrassing situation with Taylor Swift, the presenter was also criticized for his speech about “Barbie”, a film by director Greta Gerwig. “'Barbie' was based on a plastic doll with big breasts (…) I don't want you to think I'm a creep, but it's kind of weird to be attracted to a plastic doll,” Koy said from the stage.
“The key moment in 'Barbie' is when she starts having bad breasts, cellulite and flat feet. Or as casting directors call it: character actors [um ator especializado em interpretar pessoas excêntricas ou incomuns, em vez de papéis principais]”, he concluded. Checkout:

We are not talking about the superficial discourse of feminism, but about the disgusting joke that Jo Koy made, and only a film like Barbie, aimed at women, would be ridiculed like that pic.twitter.com/QRmBV9kkXf
