House of the Dragon: Fans Find CGI Errors in Episode 3; Looks! TecMundo

This Sunday (4th) aired the 3rd episode of House of the Dragon, a prequel series to Game of Thrones that is already winning the hearts of fans of the universe created by George RR Martin.

Both GoT and The House of the Dragon are known as series with impeccable production quality. The fans were all the more surprised to find a CGI error in the series about the Targaryen family.

A few years ago, when the original series was still airing, HBO missed a Starbucks coffee mug in one of the scenes, a fact fans of the series were quick to point out — in fact, as part of the promotion of the Targaryens series, the production also hid mugs in selected coffee shops.

Now it was the editor’s turn to forget to delete a green markup for CGI. Understand what happened!

House of The Dragon: CGI error attracts fans’ attention

In the 3rd episode of the series, King Viserys wears a green gauntlet. It might even look like a Targaryen family accessory, but it’s not! In fact, the green glove is CGI markup that allows editors to digitally erase two of the actor’s fingers.

In the series, King Viserys suffers from an illness that affects his entire body. Therefore, green marks are there to help the production achieve the desired effects.

HBO Max usually notices these errors and promptly shares the episode on the streaming platform. However, they weren’t fast enough and many users pointed out the error on social media:

Fatal CGI error in House of the Dragon 1×3, they forgot to remove the green background on Rey Viserys’ cut fingers, the same happened with the coffee pot in Game of Thrones. #HouseOfTheDragonHBO #HouseofDragon #LaCasadelDragon pic.twitter.com/zPv1Vi3pA4

I have to complain about House of the Dragon’s CGI again. There are scenes that are awesome and scenes where you can see the green screen behind it… pic.twitter.com/bYlwQ0JQog
