Actor Humberto Carrão has opened up about the end of his marriage to actress Chandelly Braz, with whom he has been dating for 10 years, in an interview with the newspaper O Globo. The end came in August of that year and for Carrão, the proportion he was taking in the media and among fans was not something he was comfortable with.

For him, the joy that many felt upon learning of the end of their relationship was not cautious.

“That was sexist. This exaggeration of the individual… The matter is not divided equally for both sides. I thought he wasn’t careful with the couple, especially the woman,” he explained.

The artist also said his relationship with his ex is good and they both care for little dog Mattia, who they adopted while they were together.

Humberto said he’s surprised when people write stories about the places the actor likes to visit and even give them as tips for tours in Rio de Janeiro.

“I’ve been asked to recommend cool shows to anyone coming into town, but they put it in a tone of voice like I was giving advice on where singles can find me. It was weird,” he said.

Speaking about the heartthrob position some insist on labeling, the actor said he doesn’t see him in that position in his professional or personal life: “This is a Twitter projection and I’m not buying it.” He is currently promoting his new work at Globoplay, the series Route 66 A História da Polícia que Mata.

Still attached to his relationship with social networks, Carrão criticized the overvaluation of metrics and followers.

“I find it sad that the amount of followers helps cast an actor. A million followers means you earn more from your salary and from advertising. So you can’t lose followers or commit. I have no problem losing followers, especially when I’m posting what I think is important,” making it clear he’s not interested in garnering that much attention.
