Elvis Pigsley is a domestic pig with an adventurous spirit: like the star that inspired his name, he wanted to be the undisputed protagonist, at least for one day. To do this, he “escaped” from home and the police took care of bringing him safely back to his owner.
It wasn’t the first time the pig, who lives in Alaska with Angela Mullen-Herrera, has moved away from home: he wants to reach the surrounding neighborhoods and take long walks in the snow. To make new friends and visit places he already knows. “He’s a great escape artist – Mullen-Herrera tells website The Dogo – he’s had all sorts of adventures: on several occasions I’ve had to lure him back with slices of apple.”

This time, however, Elvis Pigsley has strayed further than usual. During a light snowstorm, he managed to exit through an ajar gate. It didn’t seem real to him that he could have new experiences, explore new unknown places. After wandering the neighborhood for a while, the giant animal struck a concerned passerby who alerted the police. And so the nice pig at the wheel was accompanied by the agents: In the photos, in which he looks out of the rear side window, he looks pleased and excited. Luckily, Elvis is well known in Anchorage, and his home was easy to track down.

“Just under a year ago we answered a call about a turkey trying to get into a supermarket. We showed up and found an actual Gobble Gobble trying to get into a local gas station convenience store. Adventure you would.” We are very surprised that this is not the case And then yesterday it happened… – Anchorage Police Department agents write on Facebook and comment on the photo – We received a call from a citizen who was concerned about a pig in Fairview , which stood on the side of the road, which “appeared to be frozen”. As it turned out, the burly guy was quite friendly. They will be happy to know that he is reunited with his family and everything is fine.”

“I’m sure she enjoyed this experience – says her owner – The police were very kind and understanding”. Mullen-Herrera receives support from the Alaska Potbelly Pig Rescue on how best to care for Elvis and try to avoid further escapes: “You’ve been a huge help to the pig community here in Alaska, as well as a great source of information,” he said.
