More than a thousand migrants were deported early this Friday Tapachula towards Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, the above after the closure for maintenance Temporary Care Center Tapachula.

The immigration authorities informed them that in the capital they could continue their procedures to obtain the multiple immigration formula, which would allow them regular residence in Mexico.

“Due to maintenance reasons, it is not possible to pay attention to them in these facilities. They will be transferred to another office in the state of Chiapas. They will be cared for in the town of Tuxtla Gutiérrez and there they will continue their process.” ; “For those who want to get closer, the trucks are coming so we can line up in an orderly manner for those who want to take that option,” Migration Agent

When they arrive in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the document they are given by the National Institute for Migration is a letter of voluntary exit from the country within 20 days.

“They tell us to leave the country, they didn’t give us permission to go upstairs, they just lied to us here, they tell us to get out of here, they give us 20 days to admit the country forsake what they have done.” To us, that is an outright lie.”

Trucks can be seen in the state capital marching towards the immigration office. Most say they don’t want to stay in Mexico but want to reach the northern border.

Migrants on the southern border of Mexico

On the Mexico-Guatemala border, the panorama is different from the chaos to the north as there has been no reinforcement of security measures.

Thousands of migrants come on foot and easily enter the Suchiate River.

They cross it in enchanted rafts and with them begin the journey towards Tapachula, which is 43 kilometers from there.

“It’s hard to walk on the border and it’s hard in the United States. I will tell you why many children cry because their parents are moving away from them.”

In Ciudad Hidalgo, on the banks of the Suchiate River, only two members of the National Institute for Migration tour the area, but without checking documents or detaining migrants.
