Iran denies connection to attack that killed American soldiers in Jordan after Biden's allegations G1

Three US soldiers die in an attack in Jordan

“Iran had no connection and has nothing to do with the attack on the US base,” the Iranian mission center said in a statement carried by state news agency IRNA. “There is conflict between U.S. forces and resistance groups in the region who are retaliating.”

According to the Portal agency, the attack occurred in the early hours of the morning near a shelter, which would explain the number of at least 34 injured. The base attacked on Saturday (27) is known as Tower 22.

“While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know that it was carried out by Iranbacked radical militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq,” Biden said Sunday. “We will continue our commitment to the fight against terrorism. There is no doubt that we will hold all those responsible to account at the time and in the manner we choose.”

This was the first deadly attack against US forces since the IsraelHamas war broke out in October 2023. The case marks a significant escalation in tensions currently prevailing in the Middle East.
