Israel Hamas, army: "A new phase of the war has begun" LIVE

Israel has entered a “new phase” in the war against Hamas in Gaza. Military spokesman Daniel Hagari told the New York Times. “A new, less intense phase of fighting has begun,” characterized by a reduced use of ground troops and air strikes, Hagari said a few hours after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Israel.

Meanwhile, according to Beirut media, Hezbollah military leader and Party of God member Jawwad Tawil was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Kherbet Selem, a town 20 km north, the demarcation line with Israel.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani: “The G7 countries are working with the Israeli government to find a quick way out of the military phase and return to diplomacy and politics.”

Islamic Jihad posted a video on social media of hostage Elad Katzir, 47, kidnapped at Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, in which the man appeals to the Israeli authorities to agree to a prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas.
