The Rand’Haut-Gévaudan association met for an ordinary general meeting on Saturday, November 4th. President Babeth Selier presented the morale and activity reports for the year, which were expanded to include two different missions. The creation and promotion of an alternative to the road to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, from the Sauvage estate to the Domerie Aubrac. These 90 km are intended to show hikers that Compostela was present in many places other than those on the GR 65. For them, it is an opportunity to discover the richness of the historical and natural heritage of the route, available in the Viso Rando app below the name In the forgotten footsteps of Saint-Jacques.
The monthly organization of hiking trails and the clearing of abandoned paths to preserve the network of ancestral paths are the wealth of the association. It is also a way to socialize and involve people in environmental protection.
Since 2022, there has been a partnership with the Margeride Tourist Office in Gévaudan and the CCTAMA to ensure the marking of safe hiking routes and to participate in the promotion of the area and its tourist attraction. Also took part in Rando gourmande and Pink October.
A Rand’haut-gévaudan Facebook page has been set up to disseminate the association’s information.
The financial report shows a positive balance, thanks to the collection of contributions from 45 new members, the marking of paths and a donation of €250 from the Rando gourmande of the Malzieu Fair Committee, for which thanks were given.
Renewal of the board, planned every three years. Resignation of Colette Gerzain, deputy treasurer will be replaced by Patrick Blancon. Karine Kisiel also joins the board.
