Kate 'will work from bed as she recovers from surgery': Palace insiders say the Princess of Wales' 'unwavering commitment' will spur her on, but insist 'family comes first, job second' second place” – as it is claimed, William will NOT break off contact with her Church of England

The Princess of Wales's “unwavering commitment” to the nation will spur her to continue her royal work from bed as she recovers from major surgery.

Kate, 42, is reportedly “doing well” after going under the knife for her abdominal surgery at the London Clinic near Regent's Park this week.

She is expected to spend another week in hospital before being moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor to regain her strength following the medical procedure.

Palace insiders say the recovering queen wants to get back to work “as soon as possible” but is now juggling caring for her three children with husband Prince William, 42.

A royal source said that Kate and William are currently putting “family first and job second” as they try to maintain a sense of “normalcy” for Princes George, 10, and Louis, 5, as well as their eight-year-old sister , Princess Charlotte.

“The children are always at the center of their universe.” This will continue to be the case. “They want to make sure they have as much normality as possible going forward,” a source told The Times.

The news comes as palace officials this evening sought to dismiss speculation that Prince William would become the first British monarch in five centuries to cut official ties with the Church of England.

There has been much speculation in royal circles this week about whether the heir to the throne would take the title of “Supreme Governor” of the Church of England when he becomes king.

William is said to greatly admire and respect the church and enjoys attending services at important times of the year, such as Christmas and Easter.

But he feels he is no different from the average Brit in that he is not a regular believer.

And that has led to speculation about whether he might consider not taking on the formal role that British monarchs have held since the time of Henry VIII.

The reigning monarch also serves as Supreme Governor of the Church of England. While today this is largely a symbolic and ceremonial role, this position means that the monarch officially appoints senior clergy.

Sources claimed to the Times that there was “never a conversation” about William cutting off contact and leaving the role.

Kate has cleared her schedule for the next few months and is not expected to resume her official duties until after Easter.

Meanwhile, William has signaled that he will “be by his wife and children's side all the time” and will postpone any of his upcoming engagements until Kate is back on her feet.

Kate's recovery comes as King Charles struggles with his own health problems, with His Royal Highness heading to hospital next week to receive treatment for an “enlarged prostate”. Aides say the king's condition is “benign” and that he will receive corrective action.

The Princess of Wales is likely to continue her work in line with her recovery following her discharge from the London private hospital.

She recently launched a campaign called “Shaping Us” to raise awareness about the importance of the first five years of a child’s life.

Even if she doesn't make official appointments and her calendar is cleared, she will most likely continue to show interest in her campaigns.

“Her passion for the early years is clear, there will be a major continuation of this campaign and she will be keen to continue this conversation with the nation as quickly as possible,” an aide told The Times.

While the Princess of Wales recovers, engagements with the Princess of Wales's 30 charities and patrons will be canceled, postponed or postponed.

An official visit to Italy planned for March was also postponed.

William has now started to focus on family while Catherine is in hospital, with the approach described by the Wales as: “100 per cent family first, day job second.”

It is understood William is now responsible for both dropping off and picking up his three children from school.

The temporary loss of the King, Kate and William has thrown a wrench into the royal engagement calendar.

The Princess of Wales took on 134 official engagements last year, while William took on 179. It is possible that the Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne, who took over 179 and 410, will have to step up.

Queen Camilla could also try to fill any gaps. She was seen at the opening of a new “Safe Space” at the Aberdeen Art Gallery on Thursday, an initiative to help people affected by domestic violence.

The Queen said the King was looking forward to getting back to work.

Across the Atlantic, reports suggested that Prince Harry may have learned of his father's condition through the news before he was officially informed by the palace.

The suggestion came the day before it was announced that Harry and his uncle, Prince Andrew, would be further sidelined within the royal family.

King Charles has introduced a provision to prevent the couple from acting as proxies for him.

With the Counselors of State Act 2022, Charles added the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh to the list of counselors of state.

A statement confirmed that only working members would be asked to act for Charles, meaning neither Harry nor Prince Andrew would be able to do so.

Harry has yet to comment on his father and sister-in-law's complaints and spent last night at a glitzy party in Beverly Hills, where he was honored as a “living legend of aviation.”

He was in high spirits as he met with Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, a 46-year-old minor German royal and cousin of Denmark's outgoing Queen Margrethe II, and others at the Beverly Hills Hilton.

The Duke of Sussex was presented with the prestigious award by Hollywood star and private pilot John Travolta.
