Luis Tejada's death confirmed in Panama
National television (TVN) was the first to report the sudden departure of the historic goalscorer of the Panamanian team, who was one of the football players responsible for Panama's qualification for the first World Cup in Russia in 2018.
“The legend of the national team, Luis Matador Tejada, died this Sunday, January 28, after feeling unwell during a recreational football league in the Santa Librada sector,” he reported.

Just minutes after the information was shared, the Panama team's official website mourned the death of Luis Tejada and expressed condolences to his family and friends.
“The Panamanian Football Federation deeply regrets the death of Luis Carlos 'Matador' Tejada Hansell. “Historic goalscorer for the Panamanian national team, an integral part of the qualification for our first FIFA World Cup in 2018 and synonymous with the development and advancement of football in our country,” the document reads.

At the Peruvian tournament he defended the colors of Juan Aurich, Universitario, Sport Boys and Piratas.
