A Manly local has revealed all about the “embarrassing” moment global star Pink was refused entry to an Australian club because he didn't have ID.
Markets manager Mark Eymes caused a stir in Australia this week by saying he saw 48-year-old Pink get turned away from the Manly Skiff Club on Monday night and now he has opened up about the embarrassing one in a TV appearance Faux pas told.
He appeared on Nine's A Current Affair on Thursday and spoke to host Allison Langdon about his brief encounter with Pink – who is in Australia for her Summer Carnival tour – and how he desperately tried to lure her to the legendary club.
Mark said he was “disappointed” that she was not allowed into the popular local venue because she did not have ID with her, in line with Australian rules which have since been criticized by locals.
He said he even presented his own membership card to staff in an attempt to lure the global superstar into the venue but to no avail, cheekily recounting how he stole her 15-person table after she was turned away at the door .
Markets manager Mark Eymes has revealed all about the “embarrassing” moment global star Pink was refused entry to an Australian club in a television interview because he had no ID
Pink, 48, was turned away from the Manly Skiff Club on Monday night because he didn't have an ID and Mark has now told all about the embarrassing faux pas – and revealed he even stole the star's table afterwards
Speaking to host Allison, he said: “I was shocked and a bit disappointed. I just thought there had to be a way around this and get her in and have a nice dinner with all of us.”
“I don't know what they were thinking, I can't say I'm a fan – I am now because she's such a lovely person, I realized – I discovered her, I could tell she was “I couldn't understand why it seemed like no one else in the club knew who it was,” he said.
Mark told how he first met the singer on the street before witnessing the awkward encounter in the queue at the venue he attends every week.
He said, “I came across her on the street about 100 yards from the club.” And I kind of followed behind and thought, “Oh, she looks familiar.”
“And then she politely turned around and said, 'Oh guys, I'm sorry, we're walking so slowly, please walk around us.'
“And we were like, 'Oh, wow, that's pink,' and then we got to the club and I heard her say, 'We've got a booking for 15 people, we're here to take our booking,' and she said, “Oh, do you have any ID?”

“So it went straight to ID and she said, ‘No, I don’t, I don’t carry ID.’ She said, ‘I got this booking, I paid a 50 percent deposit.'
He revealed that he had tried to present his own membership card to lure Pink into the venue, but claimed that staff would not flout the ID rule.
He continued, “I kind of heard it, so I jumped on their line, got my membership card and started waving it around.” I said, “Look, I'll sign her up, here's my card and here we go.” They just immediately said, “No, she has to have her own ID.”
Despite the embarrassing mix-up, Mark insisted Pink thought it was “super cool” and cheekily added that he was able to sit at her pre-booked 15-person table when she was turned away.
“She did it all super cool, you know, a little frustrated, like you or I would be.” But no, she was great. “She's an amazing woman, so I want to say I'm a fan now,” he said.
“We didn’t have a reservation so we walked around and there was supposedly a 15-person table there so we sat down, there were six of us.”
“Then a few other Manly locals we knew were walking around looking for a table and we said, 'Please come join us, this table isn't being used.' So thank you Pink, that was very nice from you. However, I hope you got your deposit back.'

He continued to rave about the Manly Skiff Club but said he wished there had been a way to change the rules for the global pop star.
“I want to say that the Skiff Club is great. I love him. We go there every Monday night – great food, good steaks – but unfortunately they followed the rules.” “I'm breaking the rules, I think it's too much,” he said.
“I think there should have been a way to have some flexibility, there should have been a way around that.”
Presenter Allison described the mix-up as “a bit embarrassing” as Mark expressed his hope that Pink can return to the legendary club on another visit.
Matt Hazell, managing director of the Manly Skiff Club, told Chron Australia: “The club deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to P!NK, her family and friends during her recent visit to the club.”
“We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding surrounding the ID requirement and will use the incident to improve our processes in the future.”
Mark said he was “disappointed” that she was not allowed into the popular venue because she did not have ID with her, in line with Australian regulations that have since come under criticism
Under the Registered Clubs Act 1976, visitors to clubs must present suitable identification to gain entry to venues.
However, fans have since criticized “embarrassing” rules for entry into clubs in Australia following the embarrassing gaffe.
Viewer Mark's TV appearance comes after he first told the Manly Observer about how Pink was turned away from the venue earlier this week.
He told the publication that he tried to help by informing the Skiff Club directors and floor manager that Pink was at the entrance and would be turned away, but to no avail.
“Next thing I saw P!NK and her group leave, they just kicked her out,” he said.
Despite the embarrassing faux pas, Mark insisted she wasn't “putting too much stress on herself” and was “really enjoyable” even if she couldn't enjoy her evening at the venue.
He added: “She didn't lose her weight once, she was really pleasant, although she was a little upset that she couldn't come in. It was just such a shame and a little embarrassing that no solution could be found.'
The Courier Mail later revealed where the American superstar ended up following her shocking rejection.
Pink, who considers Australia a “second home”, is currently down under for her Summer Carnival tour, which kicked off in Sydney last week
After being turned away from the Skiff Club, Pink and her crew took a quick trip across Manly's East Esplanade to 4 Pines Brewing.
Despite the confusion from earlier in the evening, a source who was at the brewery at the time said the singer “looked really happy.”
“They actually all looked happy and enjoyed the food and drinks,” the source added.

She has since flown to the Gold Coast with her husband Carey Hart and their children Willow, 12, and Jameson, seven, before appearing in Brisbane on Friday and Saturday.
