A judge was attacked during a hearing this Wednesday, 3, in Las Vegas, in the United States. Security cameras recorded the moment Man, identified as Deobra Redden, “flies” towards the judge after receiving one Conviction for assault aggravated by physical assault (see video below).

According to local newspaper 8 News Now, before the attack, Redden's lawyer had asked the judge to grant his client a suspended sentence, but she replied, “With this history, that's not possible.” Redden then approached her.

In the video, the man can be heard punching the judge several times and shouting profanities as security officers try to restrain him. An alarm was activated and after a few minutes the judge managed to get up. Police officers escorted her from the room before asking all the other defendants to leave.

According to sources, the judge named Mary Kay Holthus hit her head but is fine. One of the officers seen in the images trying to restrain Redden was hospitalized.

“Thank God the judge is doing well,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said in a statement. “Thank God for the heroic efforts of those who came to his aid, especially his marshal and his minister of justice. Without them the situation would have been much worse as the defendants have engaged in extremely violent behavior and I am confident there will be consequences.”

The man has a history of aggression. In 2021, he was convicted of domestic violence and also charged with malicious damage to property.
