With six days to go before the 2022 midterm elections, Democrats will — by all appearances — pay a heavy price for ignoring politics’ top tenant: Don’t lie straight to our face.
The Democrats thought the American people were jerks.
And people are angry.
It was a bizarre Alice in Wonderland experience watching liberals invent ridiculous self-serving stories about America’s truly sad state.
Their claims are not only patently false, but also delusional. And you would have to be delusional yourself to believe the untruths spewed out of their mouths.
Call it the great American cover-up.
These include: There is no increase in crime.
“They are master manipulators,” New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul said of Republicans. “You have this conspiracy all over America trying to convince people that they are not as safe in the democracies.”
Oh really?
In New York City, subway violence is rampant — up 41% in 2022, according to the NYPD.
According to an analysis by the New York Times, the annual homicide rate nationwide is 30 percent higher than in 2019.
The bipartisan Criminal Justice Council says aggravated assaults, robberies, burglaries, thefts and auto thefts increased in the first half of 2022 compared to the first half of 2021.
Democrats have made very clear what they think should be the most important issue for voters — the Republican threat to democracy, of course.
Does that sound like a “conspiracy” to you?
How about this: Inflation is a myth and the economy is strong
“Inflation has gone down, real incomes have gone up and the price of gas has gone down,” President Joe Biden said in a speech in Syracuse, New York, last month.
He probably set the worst example of a politician who treats voters like they’re stupid.
Inflation is at its worst in almost 40 years. Real incomes – commonly referred to as wages – have fallen. (Thanks again inflation). And the price of gas has clearly gone up.
When Biden was inaugurated, a gallon averaged $2.39. Today it’s about $3.80.
Who does he think he is fooling?
And now for what is probably my favorite lie: America’s borders are secure.
We heard it from Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas and the Border Czar’s Vice President Kamala Harris. Her message to Americans is: Don’t believe your lying eyes.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection made nearly 2.4 million arrests at the southern border in 2022 — by far the highest number on record.
And that’s just the people who were arrested.
CBP has reported at least another 900,000 “runaways,” or individuals likely to have slipped through the gaping cracks in the “safe” border.
Now, the unchecked flow of illegal immigrants to America isn’t just a problem in the southern border states. New York City has set up tent cities to house migrants brought there by Republican governors in Florida and Texas, but also by Democratic leaders from El Paso.
At least two Border Patrol agents were injured Tuesday when a group of Venezuelan migrants attacked officers at the US-Mexico border near El Paso.

An agent was attacked with a flagpole. The second agent was hit by a rock before the migrants were driven back by non-lethal Pepperbell shots.
Does that sound “safe” to you? But down the rabbit hole we go again.
Listen to White House propagandist Karine Jean-Pierre and you’ll hear a very different story.
Responding to 2.4 million encounters at the border, Jean-Pierre claimed: “You have Republican governors who are using these migrants as political pawns, we are working hard.”
Of course you are. But don’t Democrats transport migrants to northern cities, too?
All government spokesmen babble or cleverly mislead their party and president, but usually there is a grain of truth. In her case, it’s just a Baghdad-bob-level ridicule.
And unfortunately her wild spinning didn’t work.
A new ABC News poll found that 50 percent of Americans say either the economy or inflation is the most important issue in determining their vote in the 2022 midterm elections.
White suburban women, a traditionally important part of any successful Democratic political campaign, have rushed to the GOP.
The Wall Street Journal reports that this block of voters has drifted 27 percentage points away from the Democrats over financial concerns.
Voters want to feel safe in their homes, secure in their jobs and hopeful about the future.
It is not that hard. And you’d think the Democrats would sit up and take notice, stop distorting the truth, and face the very serious problems that plague our country.
But no.
At least two Border Patrol agents were injured Tuesday when a group of Venezuelan migrants attacked officers at the US-Mexico border near El Paso.
Democrats have made very clear what they think should be the most important issue for voters — the Republican threat to democracy, of course.
President Biden will now deliver the sequel to the “Red Wedding in Philadelphia” as he denounced the MAGA extremists as an existential threat to America.
On Wednesday night, he will deliver a speech at Union Station in Washington DC to address “the commitment to our democracy in next week’s election,” according to DNC.
I wonder what they do with all the homeless people who regularly camp in front of the terminal.
For Democrats, January 6th is forever. It’s their winning message. It’s more important than being able to support your family, send your child to college, pay your bills.
But encouragingly, none of this has reached Americans outside the narrow base of far-left Democrats. In fact, it’s flattened.
The GOP is expected to switch four Senate seats from Democratic blue to Republican red, according to election experts at RealClearPolitics. In fact, no gains are forecast for Democrats, giving Republicans solid control of Congress.
It is a red wave and it collapses on November 8th.
Well, nobody can predict the future, but let’s just say I cook chili and have friends to see the election return.
No amount of fear-mongering about the future of democracy could make Americans overlook problems with crime, immigration, and most importantly, the economy.
What else can you say?
Reality bites and it looks like voters are biting back hard at the party that has ignored reality.
