The Texas team endures another difficult season and has a 51-63 record going into tonight’s clash with the Oakland Athletics, earning them third place in the Americans’ West Division. Before the day’s games, she was nine and a half games behind the Tampa Bay Rays, who drafted the team’s last draft, for the playoffs.

The 46-year-old man who arrived in those roles in 2019 will therefore never succeed, he who has since held a record of 211-287 has never held a record above the .500 bar. He becomes the fourth manager to lose his Major League Baseball job this season.

However, Rangers management had put all the resources at his disposal in 2022, which had spent heavily in the last offseason, awarding $325 million and $175 million respectively to Corey Seager and former Toronto Blue Jays , Markus Semien, among others.

“During his time with Rangers, Chris worked tirelessly, sometimes under difficult circumstances,” Jon Daniels, president of baseball operations, said in a statement. He was a dedicated and passionate man who tried to improve the Texas Rangers’ performance on the field and that is greatly appreciated.

“We’ve had lengthy discussions over the past few weeks and while the current results have contributed to this decision, we also had to think about the future. We felt a change was needed as the team continues to build a winning culture and prepare the team for playoff success every year.”

Third base coach Tony Beasley will replace Woodward on an interim basis. The 55-year-old is in his eighth season as a member of the Rangers coaching staff.

If Rangers finish the 2022 season under .500, they will extend their streak of consecutive seasons with no win record to six. They had managed to end 2015 and the following year on a positive note, making the playoffs every time. But every time, the Blue Jays knocked them out in the Divisional Playoffs.
