New coronation day portraits of King Carlos and Queen Camila unveiled

(CNN) – Since the coronation of the British King Charles III. Although a week has passed, the palace is still releasing details of the big day, this time in the form of two newly released photos taken after the coronation.

In one picture, Charles appears in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace with his eldest son, William, Prince of Wales, and his grandson, Prince George.

The king wears all the regalia, the robe of state and the imperial state crown while holding the sovereign’s orb and the sovereign’s scepter with the cross. He sits on one of the two thrones made for the future King George V and later Queen Mary for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.

The second picture shows Carlos and his wife, Queen Camila, with the eight pages of honor and the ladies present who assisted them at the coronation.

The images were taken by British photographer Hugo Burnand, who has worked with the royal family for more than 20 years.

Carlos and Camila were crowned in a magnificent and deeply religious ceremony at Westminster Abbey on May 6th.

The coronation, a symbolic meeting of monarchy, church and state, was attended by dignitaries from around the world and thousands of people gathered in the streets of London to witness the processions to and from the Abbey. It was Britain’s first coronation in 70 years.

Charles became instant king in September when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died at the age of 96. She was the longest reigning monarch in British history.
