Penny Lancaster has reflected on the “honor” she felt at the coronation of King Charles III. to serve as a police officer.

The 52-year-old model shared a snap on Instagram on Thursday of the moment the king’s golden carriage passed her as she guarded the crowd.

In the post, Penny gushed that serving on such a historic day was “a proud moment that she will never forget.”

The mother of two, who is married to music legend Rod Stewart, graduated in April 2021 after becoming a police volunteer after appearing on Channel 4 show Famous And Fighting Crime.

She was then joined by her proud husband in her swooning parade in April 2022, where she accepted her certificate of completion.

Penny’s caption read: “Reflecting on the Coronation of Her Majesties King Charles III. and Queen Camilla.”

“I was honored to have the opportunity to serve on this very special day. A very proud moment that I will never forget.

“Thanks to some spectators in the audience that day, I have some wonderful images to cherish, thank you.”

Penny previously spoke about her policing duties at King Charles’ coronation during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.

She told the ITV show about her work at the Coronation, where her shift ran between 6am and around 4pm.

The star said: “It was the most fabulous day and of course I am immensely proud and honored to have been given this opportunity alongside the City of London Police, for which I am a special officer.”

“There were the regular officers and then the special officers [on duty] and of course we volunteer to help with police duties and we were based in Whitehall, just opposite 10 Downing Street, just behind New Scotland Yard.”

This comes after last September when she helped oversee the Queen’s funeral procession.

Around 11,500 police officers were on duty in London on Saturday.

Penny added, “We got to know the public that was in front of us quite well.” And there were people from Miami, Scotland, Wales and everywhere.

“And it was just amazing to see the different generations, you know, grandparents with their little chairs and there were little toddlers on dads’ shoulders and stuff like that.” [with] painted faces and waving flags.’

She said: “So we were able to chat and engage with the public and of course our priority was to make sure the ceremony and the passage of the carriages and the procession went smoothly and without interruption.”

The Loose Women panelist added that she worked closely with Met officials who wore armor, batons and handcuffs, but that she and her colleagues wore “very elegant tunics.”

She said: “Our main message to us was to be smart and look smart, be alert and just let our inspectors and the officers in the crowd know if we saw anything suspicious, but luckily it was a fantastic atmosphere…” Lancaster said if anyone had tried to get over the barrier they “certainly would have intervened”.

She added that she was “really, really proud of our royal family and the connection they have around the world.”
