PICTURED: James Bond star Pierce Brosnan poses for a photo in deep snow in Yellowstone National Park – “the same spot on the Mammoth Terraces” that he is accused of hiking into a protected hot spring

Pierce Brosnan posing for a photo at Mammoth Terraces has resurfaced after the actor was given a court date for allegedly hiking into a protected area in Yellowstone National Park.

The 70-year-old James Band star, who is said to have walked into the “tricky” and dangerous hot spring ranks of Mammoth Terraces, was seen in a picture uploaded to Instagram page @touronsofyellowstone.

While the post does not tag or reference Pierce, the actor was seen wearing a nearly identical ensemble in snaps he shared to his own Instagram account on November 1 while visiting Montana.

The caption of the post shared in November read: “Touron [tourist/Mormon] on the Mammoth Terraces in Yellowstone.'

The Irish-born star stood on a layer of snow and smiled slightly towards the camera while making a peace sign with his hand.

The detailed caption also added a description of the springs, explaining that hot water “forms a series of terraces composed of travertine deposited by hydrothermal vents flowing into the valley near the northern end of Yellowstone Park have flowed”.

“The unique colors of the spring water reflect various minerals in the travertine, including an iron oxide that gives the terraces their yellowish-brown color.”

The water in the springs can reach temperatures of 125 degrees Fahrenheit and “dissolved limestone and other minerals crystallize to form the travertine deposits…”

In one picture, Brosnan was seen sitting on a chair with a picturesque landscape and mountains in the distance behind him.

He also included another photo as he took off his hat to take a selfie while the sun shone on him.

“A new hat from Aspen Hatter, Austin, Texas…that brings back memories in Montana,” the Mamma Mia! Star wrote to his 2.1 million followers.

The resurfaced photo comes shortly after Pierce was given a court date in Wyoming for allegedly hiking into “sensitive” and dangerous protected hot springs in Yellowstone National Park.

The Tomorrow Never Dies actor is accused of straying from the permitted path and trying to get a closer look at the thermals in the Mammoth Terraces section.

He was arraigned twice on Nov. 1 for the alleged violations and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.

According to court documents filed Tuesday, the star was charged with walking in a thermal area and violating lockdown.

He is scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephanie Hambrick next month.

The Mammoth Terraces are a popular feature in Yellowstone and are constantly changing in color and activity.

Federal regulations require visitors to national parks to stay on designated walkways. Leaving the boardwalk is punishable by up to six months in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Brosnan is just the latest tourist to try to break the rules at the stunning park. At least 22 people have died as a result of burns in the springs and geysers of Yellowstone National Park.

In 2021, a Connecticut woman was sentenced to seven days in jail, a $2,000 fine, and a two-year ban from Yellowstone for leaving the sidewalk and approaching thermals.

In June, a shocking video emerged of a couple ignoring warnings as they tried to touch 175-degree geysers elsewhere in the park.

A woman was seen screaming in pain as she dipped her hand into the hot springs.

The clip was shared on the TouronsofYellowstone Instagram page, which also regularly documents abuse and bad behavior at the park.
