Parts of Abby Choi’s body were found at the home where she was dismembered
Hong Kong police have arrested four people for the murder and dismemberment of 28yearold model Abby Choi following a financial dispute with her exhusband’s family, authorities said on Saturday.
Parts of the body of wellknown “influencer” Abby Choi, who appeared on the cover of the digital edition of fashion magazine L’Officiel Monaco last week, were found dismembered in a house.
“We’re still looking for the head,” Police Commissioner Alan Chung said after reporting the victim’s limbs were found in a refrigerator.
The house had a chainsaw and a meat grinder used to grind human flesh, Chung explained.
“Two pots of stew believed to contain human tissue were left at the scene,” he added.
Choi’s exhusband, a 28yearold man surnamed Kwong, was arrested for murder Saturday afternoon while trying to flee the city on a boat, Chung said.
The father, mother and older brother of the victim’s exhusband had been arrested hours earlier and also charged with murder.
“We believe the victim and her exhusband’s family have had many financial disputes involving large sums of money,” the police chief said.
“Someone was dissatisfied with the way the victim was managing their wealth, which became a motive for murder,” he added.
Choi was reported missing last Wednesday, the 22nd. She was reportedly last seen by her exhusband’s brother, who worked as her driver. Police said the family lied to mislead investigators.
The crime house was recently rented and unfurnished, which police say suggests it was prepared for the Choi family to dispose of his body.
