President returns to Costa Rica after attending Davos Forum

On the third and last day of his stay in the Swiss city, Chaves spoke to the President of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, this Thursday; with Federal President Alain Berset; and with Deputy Prime Minister and Head of Economic Development of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

He also spoke with the President of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, with whom he discussed issues of common interest and cooperation between the two nations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.

This Wednesday, the second day of his participation in the Davos Forum, which started on Monday and ends today, the President of Costa Rica had more than fifteen bilateral meetings and participated in the “Leadership for Latin America” ​​panel.

The President of Costa Rica began the day by meeting Intel Executive Director Pat Gelsinger and later spoke with Mastercard’s President of Strategic Growth Michael Froman.

Chaves then spoke with Israel’s Secretary of State Eli Cohen at a meeting that the President’s House said helped strengthen ties between the two nations, and then met with Visa Executive President Alfred Kelly.

By participating in the Forum: Leadership for Latin America, the President of Costa Rica explained his government’s development vision, based on opening the country and encouraging foreign direct investment, since – as he assured – Costa Rica has a brand that is in the modern world, it matters.

Bilateral meetings continued with Uber Technologies CEO Dara Khasrowshahi; Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Adel al Jubeir, and the Kingdom’s Investment Minister, Khalid Al Falih; and with US Senator Chris Coons, among others.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Education, Arnoldo André, and Minister of Foreign Trade, Manuel Tovar, complete the Costa Rican delegation.

Taking stock of the Costa Rican presence in Davos, Chaves said that this is a way for the three government hierarchs to interact with their world peers, with business and also, as he has implied, we learn and teach them Beauties of Costa Rica.
