Aid to the government in Kyiv will continue – that is already certain ahead of the meeting of the so-called Ukraine contact group at the US air base in Ramstein on Friday. The meeting of NATO representatives and some 50 nations will deal with additional artillery, munitions and other military equipment to defend against Russian invaders – and, above all, the delivery of war tanks to Kyiv. Above all, Germany and above all Chancellor Olaf Scholz are still hesitating. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expects those responsible in Ramstein to provide the Ukrainian armed forces with “heavier and more modern weapons”.
