Prince George, son of William, has reportedly warned his classmates to be “very careful” as his father is the future king, according to Katie Nicholl, author and journalist for the monarchy.

“My father will be king so you better be careful,” the 9-year-old future monarch would have warned, a statement included in the book The New Royals.

In the book, which will be published on October 4, the journalist insists that the boy is very aware that in the future he will take the throne himself.

“They raise their children, especially Prince George, with an awareness of who he is and the role he will play, but they don’t want to insist on a sense of duty,” Katie Nicholl told the Chron.

George was recently placed second in line to the throne, with his father William, 40, first after King Charles III. had been proclaimed monarch after the death of Elizabeth II.

George was told of his fate and future royal duties when he was 7 years old, reports British historian Robert Lacey.

Though George is becoming increasingly aware of the responsibilities he will one day assume, he still behaves like a child, even in public places.

In July he was caught making faces while watching a game at Wimbledon and recently he stuck his tongue out at photographers afterwards
