In interviews aired on Sunday, Harry accused the royals of “cutting a deal with the devil” to get positive media coverage, citing Camilla’s efforts to improve her image with the British people following their dating affair to rehabilitate King Charles III.

“It made her dangerous because of the connections she made in the British press,” he told the CBS network. There was an open willingness to exchange information on both sides. »

Harry spoke to Britain’s ITV and CBS’s 60 Minutes to promote his book Spare, which has been making inflammatory headlines ahead of its publication on Tuesday.

Speaking to ITV, he reiterated claims that there were “concerns” in the royal family about the color of his unborn child’s skin following his marriage to American actress Meghan Markle. Harry and Meghan first mentioned it during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, but they didn’t identify the family member raising concerns.

Harry insisted the family wasn’t racist but said the episode was an example of unconscious bias, adding the royals need to “learn and grow” to be “part of the solution” rather than the problem.

“Otherwise, unconscious bias then falls into the category of racism,” he argued.

Spare talks about the grief Harry felt at the death of his mother in 1997 and his resentment over his role as “reserve” being overshadowed by the role of his brother’s heir, Prince William. He recounts altercations and a physical altercation with William, revealing how he lost his virginity and confessing to using cocaine and cannabis.

He also says he killed 25 Taliban fighters while he was an Apache helicopter pilot in Afghanistan – a claim that has been criticized by both Taliban and British veterans.

Since retiring from royal duties and moving to California in 2020, Harry and Meghan have voiced their criticism of the royal family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey and in a documentary that aired on Netflix last month.

In addition to these interviews, Harry will also appear on Good Morning America and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as part of his book tour.

The royal family has not commented on any of the allegations, although some allies have largely anonymously refuted the claims.
