The star player has missed his team’s last seven regular season games with a lower body injury. In 2022-2023, he missed a 10-game period between February 9 and March 1, and four matches between January 18 and 24.

“I think Cale will be rested,” said head coach Jared Bednar, whose comments were reported by the National League website.

“He missed a lot of games. He is feeling well. He spent some time on the ice last week making sure he was ready for the playoffs.

In 60 games this season, Makar has hit the target 17 times and provided 49 assists for 66 points.

His comeback is great news for the Avs. The 24-year-old Albertan was a key factor in Team Colorado’s Stanley Cup win last year. The Conn-Smythe Trophy winner had 29 points in 20 playoff games.
