But did he see Battlestar Galactica on the plane?

Rainn Wilson was recently stunned when an Alaska Airlines flight attendant secretly slipped him a napkin at Portland International Airport.

“The office has seen me through some of the darkest days of my life,” the message said. “I can’t thank you enough for that. Kind regards, Melanie (Alaska Flight Attendant).”

The handwritten note, which did not reveal the guard's last name, touched Wilson so much that he posted a picture of it on X (formerly Twitter).

“I didn’t even see who dropped this on my lap at PDX airport, but I really appreciate the sentiment, Alaska Airlines flight attendant Melanie,” wrote Wilson, 58. “So honored to be part of a show to be who touched, touched, comforted and inspired. And it will continue to be that way!”

“It’s so damn rare,” he added. “An ongoing thank you to the entire Office family, cast, writers, crew and especially AUDIENCE!”

However, Wilson went on to joke that this was “not an open invitation to write me notes on napkins!”

Several X users responded to the sweet gesture.

“This show gives me the best warm feeling ever,” one user commented.

“Co-sign,” a second person said. “The office helped me and my family through the 2020 pandemic lockdown.”

“Comedy can help people cope,” a third person wrote, adding, “Thanks for the laugh.”

In April 2023, the “Six Feet Under” actor shared a hilarious Instagram Story in which he sat next to a Delta passenger watching “The Office.”

“When the person sitting next to you has no idea who you are…” the actor captioned the video.

To be fair, Wilson looks nothing like his character, whose trademark glasses, middle parting and mustard yellow shirt were replaced by a surgical mask, cap and headphones.

Despite positive interactions with fans, Wilson admitted that the sitcom left him feeling “unfulfilled” at the height of its popularity.

“When I was on 'The Office,' I was really unhappy for several years for the most part because it wasn't enough,” Wilson told Bill Maher on his “Club Random” podcast in July 2023.

“I made hundreds of thousands. I wanted millions and was a TV star, but I wanted to be a movie star. It was never enough,” he said. “I'm on a hit show that's nominated for Emmys every year and I make a lot of money working with Steve Carell and Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski and these great writers and incredible directors like Paul Feig.”

“I’m on one of the greatest shows on television. People love it. I didn’t enjoy it.”

According to Wilson, the deep-seated dissatisfaction came from the fact that he still wasn't a big star.

“I thought about it: 'Why am I not a movie star?' Why am I not the next Jack Black or the next Will Ferrell? ” he added. “'How come I can't have a film career?' Why don't I have this development contract?'”

Rumors of a show reunion have been around for years. Last week, co-star Melora Hardin said she's “definitely” up for a reboot, but believes there's a better chance of getting the entire cast back together if they made a Dunder Mifflin movie.

“I would like to make a movie because then it would just be quick and we would do it. I think we could bring everyone back for that,” she told the US Sun.
