On Tuesday, the Pretty Woman actor was seen sporting an impressively youthful and laid-back figure as he showed up in New York City a day before his 73rd birthday.
The silver-haired star looked stunning in a casual tee, canvas pants and trainers, all smiling for the cameras after having lunch with a pal.
Despite being of retirement age, Richard remains as busy in his career and personal life as ever, with two major film projects currently in the pipeline.

The actor is currently appearing in upcoming romantic comedy Maybe I Do.
The film follows a young couple who turns to their respective parents to ask them about the trials and tribulations of marriage.
Alongside Gere, the film will showcase the talents of an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Emma Roberts, William H. Macy and Diane Keaton.

Director Michael Jacobs, who also wrote the project’s screenplay, issued a statement to Deadline in which he expressed that he was thrilled to have worked with the actors and actresses appearing in the film.
“I have to watch this incredible cast play characters. I think people will love to see them play,” he said.
The filmmaker further elaborated on the themes of the upcoming film.
“The difficult decisions they have to make about what could be the best rest of their lives is something that I hope will resonate deeply with audiences,” he said.

Gere and Keaton will also star in another romantic comedy called The Making Of.
The couple’s involvement in the project was revealed in 2020 when Deadline indicated that Blake Lively and Lin-Manuel Miranda would be appearing alongside the pair.
The film centers on two filmmakers whose already unraveling relationship becomes even more complicated as they begin work on a film centered on their romance.

Gere was recently announced as the buyer of Paul Simon’s 8,800-square-foot mansion in New Canaan, Connecticut.
According to the New York Post, the actor bought the property last month for $10.8 million.
The media outlet pointed out that the actor acquired the mansion for nearly $3 million below the asking price.
It was also reported that the property had been on the market for three years before the actor made his purchase.
