Oh my God. Image: Adult Swim

Back in 2017, the world saw the awesome power of desperately hungry Rick and Morty fans when this unofficial McDonald’s “Szechuan Sauce” spin-off ad went awry and then sort of fixed itself. Last year, the Adult Swim series officially teamed up with a new fast food partner: Wendy’s, promoting the chain’s new and improved fries. Now that relationship has evolved further, and dessert will never be the same again.

Here! The limited edition Pickle Rick Frosty is touted as “the highlight of the iconic Frosty,” but Adult Swim’s press release provides no other information other than the image you see above. (This isn’t technically his debut, as it was previously available at a similar event in Los Angeles last year.) Under normal circumstances, Frosty comes in either vanilla or chocolate; presumably this slimy new twist will be marinade flavored (?) and garnished with something like Hooters-style deep fried pickles or pickle chips. Will it earn you a friendship with Jaguar (memorably voiced by Danny Trejo in the 2018 episode of Rick and Morty that won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program)? Probably not, but would its effects give you a reason to forego Rick Sanchez-style family therapy?

The only place to sample this intriguingly disgusting culinary gimmick is at Resorts World in Las Vegas, home to Morty’s Mayhem, an “incredible activation” meant to draw crowds that will be flooded this weekend (March 17-20). ) along with March Madness. (March 17th is also St. Patrick’s Day, so perhaps Rick Frosty’s cucumber is also a way to glue it to McDonald’s seasonal and similar Shamrock.) If you happen to be in the area on those dates, you can “Go through your own Rick and Morty LED experience, get a chance to win Rick and Morty premium prizes, [and] enjoy watching screens to watch tournament games.”

Unlike most things in Vegas, the activation event is free, but the main draw will absolutely be Pickle Rick Frosty, which, frankly, is still not enough to fill the holes in the hearts of fans eager to know when the season starts. six will come. However, we’ll be keeping an eye on social media to see what junk food connoisseurs think of this bizarre treat.

Update, March 15, 13:58: This post has been updated to note that Pickle Rick Frosty actually debuted last year in Los Angeles. You tried? Let us know!
