In any case, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico caused widespread outrage ahead of his visit to Ukraine on Wednesday, where he met with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Uzhhorod, near the border with Slovakia.
There, Fico promised more humanitarian aid to Ukraine and said he supported Ukraine's prospects for EU membership. Shmyhal said after the meeting that Bratislava supported a program that would provide the EU with 50 billion euros for Ukraine.
