Those looking for signs of progress with the Jets on Sunday could point to an improved performance from a defense that was ranked 32nd last year, but it’s hard to think of anything else from their 24-9 loss to the Ravens too much to look forward to.

The Jets didn’t score a touchdown until the last minute of the game and their offense rallied 195 of their 378 yards from scrimmage when they were already three points behind in the second half. They turned the ball around twice, Greg Zuerlein missed a few kicks to spread the trouble to the Special Teams units as well, and crowd reactions weren’t kind to the Jets.

Head coach Robert Saleh addressed some of those reactions at his press conference on Monday, particularly those who believe Saleh’s attempt to turn the tide of the team is already doomed.

“It is It will happen‘ Saleh said of NJ.com’s Andy Vasquez. “And we all take receipts for all the people who keep making fun of us and saying we’re not going to do anything. I take receipts and will be more than happy to share them with you all.”

During an appearance on The Michael Kay Show later in the day, Saleh reiterated that he takes receipts and can’t wait shove it down everyone’s throat when the time comes.”

Sunday’s loss dropped Saleh to 4-14 as Jets coach and set his record at 63-115 since they last made the playoffs in 2010. So there was a lot to wait for the Jets to do more than talk about things to come. People will continue to use the jets as a punchline unless and until that changes, making Saleh’s charge easy to understand and hard to get to.
