Michelle won the second and final season of Pop Idol in 2003 with her debut single, All This Time, which debuted at number one in the UK Singles Chart in January 2004.

Rylan has been touring the country to promote his new memoir, which focuses on the ups and downs of his career as well as the recent breakdown of his marriage to Dan Neal.

In the book, Rylan revealed that following his divorce last year, he longs to find a partner who “loves me for me.”

In his memoir, he admitted he’d spent eight years with his ex and doubted whether he was with him for love or fame, a mentality he’s finding it difficult to shake now that he’s meeting new people.

Discussing his fears, Rylan reflected, “Is this person seeing me because they want to see me? Because they really like me? Are you really into me? Or are they just interested in Rylan’s new partner’s job?

“I mean, if I couldn’t trust the man I lived with for eight years that he was with me for the right reasons, how can I trust someone I just met in a bar?

“I just want to find someone who will love me for me…I was with the wrong person for eight whole years and I thought I found the one.”

He later quipped, “Next time, get a prenup too, stupid p**k.” The star didn’t disclose the cost of his divorce settlement.

Regarding the aftermath of his split, Rylan said: “Sometimes friends grow apart, the way I was in my marriage was the nail in the coffin.

“When I split from my husband, it hit me, ‘Oh fuck, I’m alone.’ It suddenly dawned on me that literally overnight I ran out of friends to speak of, as I could no longer rely on the friends who we had as a couple.

“In the eight years that I’ve been with my ex, I haven’t really made time for my people, my friendships.

“I didn’t even make time for my own blood family at times. That’s the sad part. I realize now that I forgot about the Clark side of my life for a while.’

Getting back into the dating pool, Rylan admitted he was increasingly frustrated with Tinder due to the sheer volume of messages from men asking him to prove he wasn’t catfish.

“I’m just so bored of it,” he explained. “I just feel like texting back and saying, ‘You know what, I’m fake.’ Don’t worry. I’ll have aw**k instead.’

Rylan and former police officer Dan announced their split in June last year after six years together.

Tragically, Rylan attempted suicide after the breakup, admitting, “For the first time in my 32 years, I felt like I couldn’t go on.

“I had lost what I thought was everything, the only thing I ever wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone.

“So I tried to end it. I won’t go into detail as I don’t think it’s fair to my mother, but thank god I was unsuccessful.

After the collapse of his six-year marriage, the TV favorite had to stay out of the spotlight for five months due to his deteriorating health.
