Search teams were sent to California after an avalanche accident near a ski resort in Lake Tahoe.
The Palisades Tahoe announced this in the afternoon on X. According to the information released, the avalanche occurred around 9:30 a.m.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. today in Palisades Tahoe, an avalanche occurred on the Palisades side, specifically above the GS Gorge area of KT-22. Our patrol and mountain operations teams are currently conducting a search. Both sides of our mountain are closed for the day. pic.twitter.com/SpvwoUAsn9

Patrol and search parties are on the mountain. It is currently unclear whether anyone was missing or injured as a result of the avalanche.
The ski area has announced its closure for this day.
According to the Associated Press, the local police station confirmed that a team was also combing the crime scene, but could not confirm whether anyone was missing.
The avalanche occurred about 30 minutes after the slopes opened and is believed to have occurred on an “expert” slope.
The Palisades ski area is located on the west side of Lake Tahoe, right on the Nevada border.
Strong winds were recorded in this region of the United States on Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, the ski area's neighboring peak recorded gusts of nearly 110 mph.
