Secret gardens full of nettlesDominique Bertrand's latest novel will be published in France next October.
It is the Belle Étoile editions (Hachette Group) that acquired the rights in France to this popular novel, published in March 2023 by Flammarion Québec.
In Quebec, Zone 3 had acquired the rights to the television adaptation even before the novel appeared in bookstores.
This novel, which at first glance seems to tell a sadly conventional story about betrayed, abused and beaten women, is in fact a work in which the cruelest – and most deserved – acts of revenge are imagined. The characters of Clara, Sabine, Symone and even the deer Oprah manage to make their tormentors pay for their dirty deeds and in the process find love, a family or a new meaning for their lives.
This is the third novel by former model and presenter turned author Dominique Bertrand. 6,000 copies of this book were sold in Quebec.
Flammarion Québec also just sold the audio rights to Secret Gardens Filled with Nettles to the audiobook application Audible.
