After a few weeks' absence, presenter Sophie Thibault is back in charge of the 5 and 6 p.m. bulletins on LCN and TVA.
The year 2023 was not easy for the renowned journalist. The skin cancer on her face, which was first operated on in April, has unfortunately reappeared.
The treatment, which seemed to work at first glance, gave the keratoses no chance, which quickly turned into carcinomas. The latter is more worrisome and needs to be treated as quickly as possible to contain the spread.
Sophie Thibault therefore underwent a very painful (but effective) treatment called Efudex for three weeks, which involved applying a thin layer of the drug to three-quarters of her face.
In fact, the treatment was so intense that a walk outside was out of the question. The skin was just too sensitive.
Even though she admits to being happy with her recovery, the presenter is under no illusions; It needs to be monitored by a dermatologist every six months to avoid unpleasant surprises. Skin cancer, no matter how subtle, can recur at any time.
