Drea de Matteo opens up about how joining OnlyFans 'saved' her amid economic hardship.
The 52-year-old “Sopranos” star, who joined the adults-only website in August, said in an interview with the DailyMail published on Tuesday that she was on the verge of losing her home and that she was only 10 US dollars in her bank account before she posted content on the platform.
“OnlyFans 100 percent saved my life,” she said. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it really saved us.”
Matteo previously revealed that she was unable to find work in Hollywood due to her refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
“They foreclosed on me and my house was flooded, so I tried to sell the house quickly. I wanted to try to sell it before they took it away,” she told DailyMail. “At the same time, I lost my mother and my other mother, who has dementia, ran out of money for her carer. I didn’t know what would happen next.”
Drea de Matteo joined OnlyFans in August after she was unable to book jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actress said that within five minutes of posting on OnlyFans, she made enough money to pay off her house and start a streetwear brand as a side source of income.
“Anyone who wants to judge and belittle me does so. I just hope you never find yourself in the position I was in, taking care of two small children,” she said.
Matteo shares daughter Alabama Gypsyrose, 16, and son Waylon Albert “Blackjack,” 12, with her ex-shooter Jennings.
The “Sons of Anarchy” actress also revealed her secret to making great content. “Most of the time I look good, and the best part is that I'm getting heavier. I don't look good in pictures when I'm thin. Before the photoshoot, I can eat and eat. “I can bulk up to look better,” she said.
“We only eat carbohydrates. “I’m just an Italian of the world and I eat spaghetti, pasta and steak,” Matteo revealed about her diet before the photo shoot.
In an interview with Fox News in September, the actress said that she was forced to “change careers and figure out new things because my own industry thinks I'm a savage,” referring to her stance against COVID-19 Vaccination requirements. “I guess you could say I was a bad girl for not following the rules a few years ago.”
“I used to have a lot of money. And then suddenly it happened that I was no longer allowed to work, but was never allowed to work again,” said Matteo. “I've never been the type of actor to take jobs just to stay in the business. I literally took jobs to support my family.”
