The Israeli army said it intercepted a series of attacks by the Hezbollah group from Lebanon on Saturday afternoon (11 a.m. local time).
According to the Israel Defense Forces, the launches were detected from checkpoints in the border region and targeted the area of Margaliot a rural settlement with a Jewish majority.
In response to the attacks, the army said it launched air strikes on a number of infrastructure used by Hezbollah, including firing artillery.
Hezbollah became involved in the IsraelHamas war in the early days of the conflict, which began on October 7 after a terrorist attack by Hamas against thousands of Israeli civilians.
Hamas is supported by Hezbollah.
The war, which has lasted more than a month, has left more than 12,000 dead, about 1,200 on the Israeli side and more than 11,000 on the Palestinian side, the vast majority of them civilians, mostly women and children.
Hundreds of Israelis are also being held hostage by Hamas.
