The little survivors of the Laval tragedy have moved from Monday

From Monday, the young survivors of the Laval tragedy will be able to meet their friends and educators again in a new place.

The community center of Champfleury was chosen to welcome the 31 children of the Sainte-Rose pre-school.

The families have asked that the children stay together when they are relocated.

Ville de Laval and the Ministère de la Famille helped the daycare management to find this space in order to keep the living environment intact as much as possible.

For the past week, staff have been working to get the premises ready for February 20th.

“Our teams were present with the day care center and the community center to install the furniture and carpets and to change the decor,” explains Jean-François Picard, Director General of Regional Operations at the Ministry of Family Affairs. We want to make sure it is a living and care environment that respects parents’ desire for children to stay together.

Given the drama that parents, children and educators had to go through, we also assure that the move will go smoothly.
