Three journalists from La Presse are in the running for the Dynasty Gala, which recognizes the cultural and media excellence of Quebec’s black community.

Culture reporter Marissa Groguhé and New York correspondent Richard Hétu are finalists in the Print Journalist of the Year category.
Isabelle Massé has also been a business journalist for more than 10 years and is in the running for this award. She has headed the Art and Being section since September.
The vice-president for information and deputy editor-in-chief of La Presse, François Cardinal, underlined these numerous selections presented on Wednesday.

“We have several initiatives in this direction, such as B. La Presse diversity internships, returning this year for a seventh edition, and regular meetings with the Group of Thirty, a program aimed at inspiring a diverse succession in governance,” added Mr. Cardinal.
Since 2016, the Gala Dynasty has honored performing artists and media personalities from Black communities.
Leading the race, Sarahmée, Corneille and Pierre Kwenders each won two selections in musical categories. Also among the finalists are several rising music stars, including Zach Zoya, MikeZup, Skiifall and Naomi.
In the comedy, Richardson Zéphir, Preach and newcomer Tai TL are in contention for comedian of the year. Actors Frédéric Pierre, Mireille Métellus and Didier Lucien are also finalists.
In the media, columnist for Le Devoir Émilie Nicolas and communications strategist Martine St-Victor, who notably works for Radio-Canada and La Presse, will claim the title of Opinion Written Writer of the Year.
Finally, the audience is asked to vote for the Gala Dynasty Personality of the Year from among all the finalists. Honorary awards are also presented to journalist Raymond Laurent, presenter Rebecca Makonnen and tap dancer Ethel Bruneau.
The awards ceremony will take place on March 30th and April 1st in separate ceremonies hosted by Naadei and Preach.
