RT Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson claimed in a recent interview that anonymous people in Washington hindered his attempts to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin. “I tried to interview Vladimir Putin and the US government stopped me,” Carlson said in an interview with the Swiss publication Die Weltwoche published on Thursday. He also stated that he was disappointed by the lack of support for his situation that he received from the US media.

He said: “I don’t think anyone said, ‘Wait a minute.’ I may not like this guy, but he has the right to interview whoever he wants and we have the right to hear what Putin says.” The 54yearold added: “You are not allowed to hear Putin’s voice.” Because Why? There was no vote on this. Nobody asked me.

The oftencontroversial media personality did not elaborate on the circumstances under which he said government intervention in his plans to interview Putin took place, but appeared to suggest that it was the current Biden administration that was behind the intervention . Carlson also did not mention when the interview with the Russian leader was scheduled to take place.

“I am an American citizen,” Carlson told Weltwoche. “I am a much more loyal American than, say, Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, who didn’t even grow up in this country; She grew up in Canada. And you tell me what it means to be a loyal American?

Carlson previously Fox News’ biggest star parted ways with the network in April, shortly after the news network settled a $787.5 million lawsuit with voting machine maker Dominion Voting Systems. Fox News has regularly discussed allegations that Dominion machines were involved in the “rigging” of the 2020 US presidential election on some of its broadcasts.

Carlson’s show “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” where he frequently discussed topics such as gender, race, sexuality and “woke” ideology, was specifically mentioned in the Dominion lawsuit.

Since leaving Fox News, Carlson has broadcast abbreviated versions of his newscast on X (formerly Twitter), which regularly draws tens of millions of views.

Rossiya 24 has not said when the show will be released or whether it will be original content or translated versions of Carlson’s X shows.
