Two Las Vegas little sisters die after a ‘drunk’ aunt crashes a van while driving with the victim’s mother

Two young children have died in a horrific crash after their drunk and “shambling” aunt lost control of a van she was driving with her mother in the passenger seat.

Kaleah Sharelle Manning, 23, had a “strong smell of alcohol coming out of her mouth every time she opened it to speak” after Sunday night’s wreck, according to Las Vegas police.

Little Taylor, 3, and Rose Wilmer, 2, both died in the crash on Scott Robinson Boulevard around 9:15 p.m.

Rose died at the scene while Taylor was taken to University Medical Center but died early Monday.

Manning, the girl’s aunt, was driving the silver 2004 Honda Odyssey van when it went off the road and hit the curb before hitting a small tree, a light pole and then a large palm tree.

Raenysa Clydette-Glenn Washington (right), the girl’s mother, and Kaleah Sharelle Manning (left) have both been charged in connection with the infant’s death. Manning was intoxicated at the time of the collision

Her mother, Raenysa Clydette-Glenn Washington, 25, was in the passenger seat of the car when the crash happened.

Witnesses claim they saw a “drunk” woman drop the body of one of the girls on the ground before trampling on her after the incident.

Both women were taken to hospital, where they were handcuffed to their beds while they recovered from their injuries, which were critical earlier in the week.

North Las Vegas Police Department Officer Alexander Cuevas announced that both women face multiple charges in connection with the deaths.

Manning and Washington lived at the same address with the two little girls, and their mother faced double neglect and endangerment, which resulted in her death.

Her aunt Manning is facing three counts of DUI resulting in significant bodily harm or death and is also accused of driving with a suspended driver’s license and having no proof of insurance.

They have not yet been assigned to the Clark County Detention Center and have been assigned in absentia as they are still in the hospital.

Witnesses claim they saw one of the women involved in the accident hold the body of one of the little girls in her arms – before dropping it on the ground and tripping over it.

The “beautiful and smart” little girls were paid tribute by their father, who said the crash was “something that should never have happened”.

Isaac Garcia told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he was “shocked” and “heartbroken” because she “just left the baby there.”

Another teenage witness said the woman was drunk, adding: “When she got out of the car she just stepped on the baby and walked on the grass.

Manning reportedly slurred her word after the crash, and police said her eyes were bloodshot, and she kept repeating herself.

According to the police report, she said she had two shots of alcohol and is pending blood tests for the level of alcohol in her system.

Tavon Wilmer, 22, the girl’s father, said the crash was “something that should never have happened”.

He added, “My girls were beautiful, smart girls.”

The crash is still under investigation, and Detective Cuevas said during a news conference, “This is a call to action regarding DUI, speed and appropriate child restraint systems.”

Manning also faces two counts of child neglect/endangerment resulting in death, two counts of operating a vehicle without child restraint systems and failing to maintain a lane.
