Ubisoft announced something new for its online subscription offering Ubisoft+ on January 15th. In a press release, the French publisher explains that it will now offer two different options for accessing its catalog of titles.

The first, called Ubisoft+ Premium, offers multiple access and access to games on PC while also providing the ability to discover the latest Ubisoft games and DLC as they are released. The second formula is called Ubisoft+ Classics. Previously available on PlayStation Plus in the Premium and Extra subscriptions, this time the latter becomes a standalone formula available on PC, notes WCCFTech.

Ubisoft continues to develop its Ubisoft+ offering

“Premium provides immediate access to new releases and in some cases, like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, early access to upcoming releases. In addition to our extensive catalog, you have access to premium editions, DLC and monthly rewards. All of this is offered on Xbox, PC and Amazon Luna, and you only need to subscribe once to have access to these games on all of these platforms,” explains Philippe Tremblay, Director of Subscriptions at Ubisoft. “Players can subscribe to Ubisoft+ Premium for a monthly fee of 17.99 euros,” he continues.

“Players can also subscribe to Ubisoft+ Classics, a selection of our most popular games like Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Siege and Watch Dogs: Legion,” the person continues. “This catalog, which will grow over time, is included for PlayStation+ Extra and PlayStation+ Premium members and is now available on PC via the Ubisoft Store at a price of 7.99 euros per month.”

For context, consider that Ubisoft is investing heavily in its subscription offering. For example, the publisher recently managed to secure global operating rights for Activision Blizzard's games in the cloud… for the next 15 years. A nice move that Philippe Tremblay is still keeping quiet about, but which suggests that Ubisoft will tell us more soon.

However, the person concerned is proud to reveal some interesting statistics about Ubisoft+ and its performance in the market. According to Ubisoft's subscription director, the service has attracted “millions of users” in its four years of existence, and thanks to the subscription they have recorded a total of more than 600 million hours of play. We also learn that 2023 would have been a record year for the service and that October is the month with the most active users since the subscription was launched.
