A US Navy helicopter with six people on board crashed into San Diego Bay after a routine exercise.
The MH-60R Seahawk entered the water near the San Diego-Coronado Bridge shortly before 7 p.m. PST, a spokeswoman confirmed.
There were no fatalities in the crash and all six people on board the plane were taken to hospital for medical evaluation.
The Coast Guard dispatched rescue workers and another helicopter to assist at the scene.
“Due to the nature of the training, a safety boat was on site and with the help of the Federal Fire Service, all six crew members survived and were immediately brought ashore,” a spokesman said.
