US: No confidential document found after search of Biden’s seaside residence

They got nothing. No classified document was found in a search of Joe Biden’s seaside residence this Wednesday. The US President’s attorney said federal police have committed to searching the US President’s seaside residence in Rehoboth, East Delaware, with the “full cooperation” of the head of state. In his press release, Bob Bauer specifies that this operation, which lasted 3:30 a.m. under the direction of the Justice Department, was “planned.” However, investigators took away documents related to his tenure as Vice President (2009-2017).

“For security and procedural reasons [le FBI] wanted to proceed with this action without prior public communication and we decided to work together,” he said. Federal police earlier searched another home of Joe Biden in Delaware in the city of Wilmington for confidential documents from the 80-year-old Democrat’s previous roles as vice president and senator.

Earlier puzzling discoveries

The President spends most of his weekends either in Wilmington or, less frequently, in Rehoboth. Since last November, a number of confidential documents, the exact number and contents of which are unknown to this day, have been found either in an office occupied by Joe Biden in a Washington think tank or in the Wilmington home.

These documents come from Joe Biden’s vice presidency (2009-2017) and his three decades in the Senate, during which he dealt intensively with foreign policy. The Justice Department has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate these discoveries, which are embarrassing for the Democratic president because, despite many differences, they recall a case of official archives brought to Florida by his predecessor Donald Trump.
