In his heart he must have thought he was doing a harmless stunt. And who knows if he took it on the spot (filmed himself) to then post it on TikTok, or on the contrary, he thought about it later. Whatever the chronological order of his thoughts, we even give him the credit (sort of) of ending up in a newspaper. Nobody is denied the famous quarter of an hour of fame. But then enough. Video games and idle afternoons in the park await him.
The protagonist is a teenager, we only think of age, probably of Russian origin. On Saturday, August 6, at the end of the daily demonstration by the Ukrainian community in Piazza del Duomo, he used his cell phone to film himself kicking the sacrificial box and then ran away. “Why did you run away after such a heroic gesture?” they asked him on TikTok. “Because the last Cossack in the family must survive,” he replied.
The video posted on TikTok opens with the selfie in the foreground and a “Z” drawn. As we know, the “Z” is the letter chosen by the Russian Federation as a battle symbol for the infamous war of aggression that has been waged since February 24th. A war that causes pain, death and the flight of ordinary people abroad.
There were also some refugees from Ukraine at the demonstration. They saw a young boy kick their garrison, scarring a moment of meditation and denunciation. A gesture that doesn’t cause the same pain as a home hit by a missile, a relative who died in an unsolicited war, a rush by all means to protect himself and his children. But ugly, vandalism, free. And this piece is the “glory” it deserves.
