Victoria Justice denies rumors she’s “jealous” of former Nickelodeon co-star Ariana Grande

Victoria Justice has denied that she is “jealous” of Ariana Grande, who starred as Catarina “Cat” Valentine on her hit Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious between 2010 and 2013.

While she squandered longstanding rumors about their alleged feud to E! News at Revolve Festival, the 30-year-old actress revealed that she and the 29-year-old pop star are still on speaking terms and remain friendly over a decade after their beloved tween comedy.

Resurfacing an old 2011 interview with Justice that emphasized “all” the cast’s vocals after costar Elizabeth praised Gillies Grande’s vocals left many fans with the impression that the Hollywood, Fla. actress was bitter about the 7 Rings was hitmaker’s rise to stardom.

After social media users went into overdrive with various theories about whether the women had beef with each other, Justice said Grande texted her that they both thought the conversation was “so stupid.”

“I think the biggest rumor is this whole narrative that came about because I was jealous of her and that we’re not friends,” the Zoey 101 explained.

In 2021, the Treat Myself singer hit back at theories that her relationship with Grande was anything but friendly, claiming the couple clashed during the show.

Speaking on Barstool Sports’ Chicks In The Office podcast, Justice revealed the two still stay in touch and there was no resentment on set.

She said, “All the drama, whatever, all that stuff is so silly … Then there’s just people online who fan those flames and make it this huge crazy thing.”

The show, which premiered on March 27, 2010, revolved around lead character Tori Vega – played by Victoria – who attended the elite high school for the performing arts, Hollywood Arts.

Victorious ended abruptly in 2013 after only four seasons on Nickelodeon.

The actress showered her co-star with praise, adding that it’s “frustrating” that people “pit women against each other.”

She said: “I love Ariana and she’s killing it right now. And she was so supportive of me and my music. And you know, we write. This is really great. So everything is fine.”
