Walter Hamada was set to leave the postBlack Adam leadership of DC Films

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Walter Hamada is on the verge of leaving the helm of DC Films, despite renewing his contract a few months ago.

The expectation is that this will happen after Black Adam premieres, but this exit was almost expected.

The site says that Hamada was not happy with the news of Batgirl’s termination and went so far as to consult a lawyer for termination of the contract Warner Bros. Discovery.

Sources indicate that the heads of the Warner Bros. Picture Group, Michael DeLuca and Pam Abdyoverseeing DC until Zaslav establishes new leadership (in the vein of Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios), Hamada informed at a recent test screening that ‎‎Batgirl would be on hold.

Hamada was upset that he had not been consulted and expressed concern about the impact this would have on the relationship with those involved in the project.

It is worth remembering that no member of the creative team, neither behind the scenes nor the cast, received this information in advance.

Everyone “knew” from the press.

Hamada took the lead of the brand in 2018 at a difficult time that made him stop focusing on it DC Expanded Universe fully networked, followed by independent projects.
