There are two classes: temporary visas And permanent visas. The first is granted to non-immigrant foreigners traveling for a short or definite period and the second to those who immigrate to the country.

United States visa: requirements to be met

Once you’ve decided on the kind of Visa you will request, you must evaluate whether or not you meet the following requirements:

  • To be Peruvian by birth.
  • Possess a valid passport up to six months after the date the trip is scheduled to take place.
  • Be rooted in the land and guarantee return.

United States visa: how is it processed?

To get those tourist visasyou need to do the following:

  • Complete the DS-160 form completely. You can enter your personal information online. Keep in mind that as of May 1st, the US Embassy will no longer accept half-filled forms.
  • You must pay $185 for the Visa Application Fee (MRV) at any Scotiabank agency. Please note that payment is non-refundable.
  • Once the payment has been made and processed, you will need to go back to the Visa Information Service page and find out the time and date of your interview with the consular officer.
  • Go to your scheduled interview with the consul. Remember that the procedure is face-to-face and personal and it is advisable to arrive minutes before the scheduled time.
  • If they approve your application, the visa will be attached to your passport.

What are the prices for visas to the United States?

From May 30, 2023 the following prices apply:

  • Business or tourism visa (B1/B2s and BCC): $185.
  • Student or exchange visa: $185.
  • Temporary work visa (H, L, O, P, Q and R): $205.
  • Trader and Investor Visa (E): $315.
