Netflix premiered one of the most controversial series, but it has also quickly become one of the most popular on the platform in recent years. “Griselda,” starring Sofía Vergara, tells the story of the most bloodthirsty drug trafficker in history.
Known as “The godmother of cocaine“due to the large amount of illegal substances he was able to import into the United States, or”The Black WidowWith the deaths of two of her three husbands, the Colombian became the most feared woman and sparked fear in Pablo Escobar himself.
And in a world dominated by women, Griselda Blanco knew how to write his name with blood and fire, leaving more than one man among them surprised Rafo Rodríguez “Amilcar”who was the strongest man for years until the Colombian took his place.

WHO IS AMÍLCAR IN “GRISELDA”?
In the Netflix series, the character is portrayed as influential drug trafficker in Miami With a wide network of contacts in the underworld and owner of an area for the sale of cocaine and other illegal substances in the capital of Florida.
When Griselda arrives in Miami with her first husband and has met her second husband, who has involved her in the world of drug trafficking, the woman shows interest in working with Amílcar because she sees the power he has and knows that he would be a great ally.
Amícar would not be easily convinced as he wanted to continue using Griselda to transport his product. However, the woman manages to save him from death, but the criminal is eventually arrested. So he offers to take over the management of the company while he is in prison.

WHO WAS RAFO RODRÍGUEZ “AMILCAR” IN REAL LIFE?
The character is based on Rafael León Rodríguez, who called himself Amílcar in the underworld. This was a Venezuelan criminal, son of a police officer in his home country, who taught him everything about weapons even though he decided to become a hitman.
Before Griselda's arrival, Amilcar was the strongman in an important region of Miami, so the Colombian only had to follow his path and then take the lead in his activities. In fact, more than 50 murders are attributed to the Venezuelan.
Although the series shows that both had a direct relationship, some versions actually state that both characters never saw eye to eye, but rather reached their climax at different times. However, the connection between the two is at the Mutiny Hotel, a center where the city's notorious drug traffickers met to do business. The point was an open secret.
Although the police had strong suspicions about Amilcar's criminal activities, they did not have enough evidence to prosecute him. However, Baruch Vega, an undercover photographer, had heard him recount how he had murdered a former ally, so he testified and revealed the same details he had heard. Against this background, the Venezuelan was forced to admit to all his murders.
Apparently fifty personal and ordered murders would be more than enough to get a life sentence. His bodyguard also fell with him, who, unlike the Netflix series, was not Rivi, but another person who was also prosecuted and imprisoned.
