Woman is cut in half and killed after a Brazilian bus was hit by a train at a railway crossing, throwing the victim through a window and under the wheels of a railway carriage

A woman was cut in half and killed when a bus was struck by a train at a crossing, throwing the victim through a window and under the carriage’s wheels.

Graphic footage of the freak accident in Brazil shows the bus driving slowly along the tracks while the train races towards it, unable to stop in time.

The train is seen honking just before it crashes into the side of the bus, killing a woman and injuring five people in Brasilia, the Brazilian capital, on Friday afternoon, November 17th.

The woman was named as Julia de Albuquerque Violato, 37. Fire officials said she was thrown from the bus and hit by the train.

In further shocking footage of the aftermath, which Web has refused to show, her body can be seen on the ground near the train, cut in two.

Other pictures show the consequences of the accident: The bus has severe damage to the rear and the woman’s lower body is apparently split into two parts on the tracks.

Four of the five injured were named.

Nildete Antunes Vitor, 58, suffered a head injury and broken bones and Julio Botelho Fernandes, 28, suffered severe head trauma and was taken to hospital unconscious.

The other two victims named are Janderson Rodrigues da Costa, 47, who suffered abrasions to his face and arms, and Pedro Domiense Campos, 42, the bus driver, who suffered shock and a nervous breakdown.

A fifth victim, a 19-year-old girl, was not named. She was rushed to hospital, also in shock, after suffering a nervous breakdown.

Julia’s mother Ana Rosa, 72, said it was “not an accident but a crime”. She accuses the bus driver of negligence.

The heartbroken woman said her daughter had been taking clothes to a thrift store at the time of the accident.

Authorities cordoned off the area and are investigating the crash.
